National policy in the pipeline to support electric vehicles

Ministry of Community Is effective is in the midst of initiating a countrywide plan to aid electric autos (EVs) in Cambodia.

To prepare this plan, Minister Sun Chanthol yesterday held a meeting with auto importers led by the Cambodia Automotive Sector Federation.

“The conference centered on the need to have for a nationwide plan to support and market EVs in Cambodia with the intention to lessen carbon emissions into the ambiance,” the ministry said in a push statement.

Chanthol explained the ministry is planning a draft road transport plan to advertise the use of EVs to contribute to lowering carbon emissions and also briefed the new cooperation in between the ministry and UNDP to set up EV charging stations at 5 places, which includes at the ministry and some strategic destinations in the money and provinces.
